Introduction:
During the 8th grade I discovered something that would change my life and impact me in ways I never expected. I watched my very first beauty video on YouTube. I watched a girl, only two years older than myself, apply her “Christmas Makeup Look.” I was immediately fascinated and captivated. I watched more and more videos and my obsession started from there. Over time I have narrowed down my subscription box to my very favorite girls to watch, and I watch all their videos almost everyday. I don’t just watch their makeup videos; I also watch their lifestyle, fitness, and everyday life videos. I find peace comfort in these videos because these girls share their lives with me and I get to see different places and different people and it has exposed me to so many different things. Some of my favorite YouTuber’s are Zoe Sugg (Zoella) and Tanya Burr. They are both from England and I absolutely love their videos. Not only are they both extremely talented in the makeup field, they are also great role models. They both promote self-confidence and they share their struggles with anxiety and they help me feel like I am not alone.  However, many people have a misconception about the women and girls who make beauty videos on YouTube, but I want to show and explain that these beauty You tuber’s are much more relatable to their viewers, they share much more than beauty tips wit their viewers, and they truly are down to earth and understand their success.

Methods:
I am going to create a survey asking what YouTuber’s others frequently watch and who they enjoy watching the most. The survey will ask if they look up to them, if they relate to these women more than they do to celebrities and other social figures, and if they feel that these YouTuber’s deserve more light and recognition in the media. Along with the survey, I am going to look at articles written about YouTuber’s, general YouTuber’s and beauty ones. I am also going to look at and analyze interviews with various beauty bloggers and see what they have to say about their influence on others and how they think they inspire their viewers.
